Dear Patients, colleagues, and friends,

Well, I have to say I am glad this year is coming to a close. 2020 was not our best year! The natural disasters, the pandemic, the political turmoil, the list could go on endlessly. However, we have persevered and are here and healthy, and we sincerely hope that you and your family are too! We will be here with you and for you throughout 2021 and beyond. Thanks for all of your wonderful comments about our pandemic safety preparations and the appreciation you showed us for being here to take care of you! We often focus on new treatments, as this seems to pique everyone’s interest the most, so we will start with that. We have introduced some new injectable fillers to the practice this year; the RHA® Collection from Revance®. These fillers contain hyaluronic acids, the same material that the JUVÉDERM™ and Restylane® families of fillers are made from. RHA® fillers are made slightly different, and the thinking is that they are more “flexible.” Our goal is always for you to look natural, meaning that someone looking at you wouldn’t be thinking about the fact that you have had “work done.” The idea of these RHA® fillers is that they may integrate better into your skin, especially when you are moving your face, i.e., smiling, talking, eating, etc. They do have some different qualities, and we do like them! We will be incorporating them when it seems right, and we will continue to match up your concerns with the best filler and toxin for you. We expect to receive “DAXI,” a new neuromodulator on the market from the same company, Revance®, in the spring of 2021. We were fortunate to be an investigational site in that clinical trial and were extremely pleased with its performance. DAXI has a longer duration of action according to the studies: BOTOX®, Dysport® , Jeuveau®, and Xeomin® have, on average, 3-4 month duration, whereas DAXI has 4-6 months of duration. Please do understand there are MANY variables in real life, and we cannot guarantee this will be better for you, as every individual is different. Nevertheless, we are excited about this new product as some of our patients (and especially men) do not like the repetitive nature of maintenance visits and would prefer to come less often. We have been ramping up our CoolTone™ treatments, which is a muscle stimulation device for the abdomen and thighs. Imagine doing 20,000 sit-ups in 30 minutes while lying down watching Netflix! CoolTone™ is helpful for getting you jumpstarted on your exercise routine. This treatment may be helpful this winter while so many gyms are closed, and it is hard to get outside due to weather. There is no downtime, and, thus far, no serious side effects. Everyone liked my article on what I did to get ready for my son’s wedding (I cannot be more grateful this took place in 2019), so I did an article this time on what I do to stay as youthful as I can! Our team members have had many personal milestones over the past year! These special moments include, but are not limited to, new babies, baby announcements, new pets, home purchases, and graduating from school! Help me in congratulating our team!
