Look better in your 40’s, Spring 2014 Newsletter
Starting around age 40, our face loses volume, which results in wrinkles, hollow areas, and facial sagging. At Advanced Dermatology, we offer many options to combat these concerns, including injectable fillers and eMatrix Complete Sublative Rejuvenation™.
One way to improve volume loss is to inject fillers into areas of your face that have lost volume. At Advanced Dermatology, we prefer hyaluronic acid fillers such as JUVÉDERM®, Restylane®, Perlane® , BELOTERO BALANCE® and the newest form, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC because they look and feel natural when injected. We treat many areas including folds between your nose and the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds), cheeks, under eyes, folds between the corners of your mouth and chin (marionette lines), and lips.
Hyaluronic acid fillers have a long safety record because hyaluronic acid is a natural component of your skin. Another advantage of hyaluronic acid fillers is that the treatment is reversible, meaning that if a problem arises, we can inject an enzyme that breaks down the injected filler, thus neutralizing and removing the problem.
At Advanced Dermatology, our goal is to achieve complete correction with the initial treatment. Maintenance treatments are needed every 6-12 months. Over time, the amount of filler needed for maintenance decreases, which reduces treatment time, reduces downtime and saves money.
For uneven texture, we offer eMatrix Complete Sublative Rejuvenation™, a sublative fractional resurfacing device excellent for facial fine lines and wrinkles, including around the eyes. eMatrix Complete Sublative Rejuvenation™ is a combination of a non-ablative (not visible wound) and an ablative (visible wound) treatment. The procedure uses radiofrequency, which induces tiny wounds and transmits energy to the middle part of the skin. This stimulates cells to produce collagen, thus repairing fine lines, wrinkles and scars. Radiofrequency is unique in that it is not absorbed differently by darker skin colors so it is safe and effective in darker skinned patients. It also ablates only 5% of the skin at a time, thus causing very little redness and down-time. We recommend 3 treatments to achieve best results and maximum results can take up to 3-6 months after treatment.
