At Advanced Dermatology, we’re always looking for new ways to enhance and improve our procedures and so we are thrilled to introduce the ZWave. ZWave is a device that uses high energy radial shockwaves to enhance one of our favorite body sculpting procedures, CoolSculpting®. How does it work? CoolSculpting® is a treatment that freezes fat cells. Once frozen, the treatment area is traditionally manually massaged to help mobilize the frozen fat cells so that they can be flushed from the body. The ZWave is a handheld device that transmits vibrations to the treatment area to break up the fat cells to ensure more rapid and complete destabilization of the fat. Additionally, the ZWave improves blood circulation and helps strengthen collagen formation to tighten the skin. This quick and relatively painless addition to the end of a CoolSculpting® treatment helps augment the results of cryolipolysis, with some studies showing a doubling of fat reduction in the first four weeks. This simple, non-invasive addition to body contouring procedures takes only 3 minutes to complete.
