A permanent solution to treating unwanted facial and body hair is laser hair removal. Laser hair removal yields long-term permanent hair reduction in the treated area which reduces the hassle, pain and maintenance of shaving, waxing or threading. At Advanced Dermatology we are committed to the latest technological innovations in this field. We have numerous lasers which perform laser hair removal allowing each treatment to be customized to achieve the best results. Our most commonly used lasers for hair removal include the GentleLase® PRO and the CoolGlide® Vantange. The GentleLase® PRO is a 755nm alexandrite laser. It provides our fastest, most comfortable, and most effective hair removal for patients with light skin and dark hair. The CoolGlide® Vantage is a 1064nm Nd: YAG laser. It safely and effectively removes hair in dark skinned patients with dark hair. Laser hair removal requires little to no down time post procedure. A mild amount of redness may be seen in the treated area after the procedure. skinfo® Soothing Cream ($21) containing a mild steroid and aloe may be massaged into the skin post treatment to calm any potential redness quickly.
