Technology at Advanced Dermatology

You may not realize that we have as much and even more technology than at most University Departments of Dermatology. Why is this important, you may ask? The reason is that we can really fit your individual concern and skin type (skin color, thickness, sensitivity, and many more) with a specific piece of equipment or we can combine pieces of equipment to realize a result we couldn’t have accomplished with only one piece of equipment.

As an example, say you wanted to tighten the skin on your face, so you had less wrinkles or sagging. We have no less than 5 devices that can accomplish this: Titan™, Thermage®, ReFirme™ (Sublime), Pellevé and CO2RE™. This may seem crazy but each one has a niche:

Thermage®is great for men, it typically does best for thick skin or skin that tends to be oily. Also it is a one time procedure that lasts for 2 or more years and has absolutely no down time. It can be used for any skin color. The procedure is a bit uncomfortable at times. You can’t have this treatment if you have metal in your body.

Pelleve© is a different device using similar technology but does better for finer lines and wrinkles, thinner skin and for people who are willing to come back a few times and don’t want any discomfort.

Thermage® or Pellevé cannot be used if someone has an implanted defibrillator or any metal in their body.

  • In that case we would use Titan™, which is a light based therapy. I really like Titan™ for the neck, wrinkles on arms or anyone who has metal implanted in their body.
  • If you had a lot of brown spots and deep wrinkles we might suggest a CO2RE™ treatment, which is a fractionated carbon dioxide laser that does it all.
  • Sublime and Sublative is a dynamic duo called the E2 Procedure, which is a great wrinkle reduction/tightening combo with little downtime.

I am not trying to confuse you but just showing you why Advanced Dermatology is the place to go. “When you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail”. But when you have a few different shaped hammers, screwdrivers of different sizes and shapes, etc, then you know we are fitting the technology to your needs and NOT the other way around! It is definitely a very important feature that sets us apart.
