Sublative Skin Rejuvenation Treatment with eMatrix™

Before undergoing Sublative Skin Rejuvenation with eMatrix™, you will have a consultation with a provider to assess your skin type, concerns, and treatment goals. Your provider will review your medical history and discuss any medications you’re taking.

Leading up to your appointment, your doctor may advise you to avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and certain skincare products, such as retinoids, exfoliants, and acids, which can increase skin sensitivity. Before the procedure your medical professional may apply a topical anesthetic to help reduce discomfort during the procedure.

Although Sublative Skin Rejuvenation Treatment with eMatrix™ is a low-risk procedure, patients can expect some mild symptoms. The most common side effects can include redness and swelling which can last several hours or possibly a few days.

While rare, other serious side effects can include scarring or infections. If you have concerns, please contact your provider. Serious complications are uncommon when the procedure is performed by a qualified provider, but if you experience prolonged redness, swelling, or other concerns, it’s important to consult your skincare specialist.

The recovery period after eMatrix™ Laser Skin Resurfacing is usually short, with many patients returning to their normal activities the same day. 

Makeup can be applied to the treated area following the procedure to help conceal any redness or minor irritation. Within 5 to 14 days, tiny crusts may form on the skin, but they are typically subtle and easy to camouflage, often becoming barely noticeable after the first couple of days.

Results develop gradually as the skin heals and collagen production increases, with the most significant improvements appearing three to six months after the final treatment. To maintain optimal results, periodic maintenance treatments may be recommended based on individual skin concerns.

Alternative forms of treatment for wrinkles and scars include BOTOX® Cosmetic, injectable fillers, Fraxel Laser Treatment, CO2 fractional resurfacing (CO2RE), tissue tightening, surgery, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and topical therapies.

Most patients have redness and swelling for a few hours to 3 days after the treatment (occasionally it can last longer). You may apply make-up to the treated area immediately after the Sublative rejuvenation procedure. Tiny crusts develop and are present for about 5-14 days, but these are easy to camouflage with makeup or even without it after the first one to two days. Results will develop over time and with subsequent treatments. Full results can be appreciated at three to six months following the last treatment. Maintenance treatments may be necessary.

eMatrix™ Laser Skin Resurfacing can be combined with other treatments to enhance overall skin rejuvenation. In our office, we frequently perform combination treatments known as eTwo and E3 to maximize results.

The cost of Sublative Rejuvenation is based on a recommended treatment plan. Treatment usually costs between $599-$795 per treatment for Sublative Rejuvenation alone whereas the E2 is about $1200 per treatment and the E3 is about $1600 per treatment.
